Twaweza Research Analyst & Programme Officer Jobs in Nairobi Kenya

Our client, Twaweza is a 10 year citizen-centered initiative focusing on large-scale change in East Africa.

Twaweza aims to enable millions of people in the region improve their quality of life by stimulating people’s imagination and agency, via improved access to information and enhanced accountability.

Uwazi is part of Twaweza, and contributes to this objective through “liberating” existing information and monitoring of public services.

Twaweza is seeking to fill newly established positions in the Kenya Office.

Research Analyst - Social Sectors

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead research and accountability monitoring activities in public services related to health, water and education;
Establish relationships with key data sources and institutions;
Prepare well researched popular policy/information briefs and commentaries;
Support management in data analysis, and participate in meetings as needed.

Qualifications & Experience required

Masters degree in a relevant field;
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience;
Excellent English writing skills with demonstrable attention to detail;
Good knowledge of econometric analysis packages e.g. STATA, SPSS.

Program Officer

Key Responsibilities

Identify and Implement strategic partnerships based on Twaweza’s theory of change/strategy and themes;
Analyse the country situation and identify key opportunities;
Document lessons learned, based on monitoring of partners activities.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
A minimum of 3 years working experience in Kenya/East Africa;
Analytical and conceptual skills, and ability to translate these into program development;
Curiosity and passion to learn, push the envelope, innovate, be creative, ability to take thoughtful risks and get
things done.
